Departure instructions
Checking out
There will be a dedicated check-out table on Saturday, July 23, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. The table will be located at Bouquet D. If you are checking out outside of this time period, you will go to the guard station at Bouquet J to return your swipe card.
Before you check out, please be sure to keep the following move-out instructions in mind:
- You will be required to turn in your PUC card at check out.
- Any PUC card not returned will result in a $10 charge.
- Empty MicroFridges and any University-owned appliances.
- Remove all personal belongings.
- Leave only sealed bags of dry trash in your room.
- Seal all wet and food-related garbage and place in the appropriate landfill of your residence hall.
- Turn off all lights and lock door.
- Return PUC card to the checkout table or guard station of your residence hall, depending on your check out time.
Getting to the airport from the University of Pittsburgh
28X bus
The nearest bus stop to Bouquet Gardens that will get you to the airport is located at Fifth Ave/Atwood St. You can get directions to the bus stop by entering “Atwood Station” into Google Maps. The stop is about a six minute walk away from Bouquet Gardens. Wait for the bus on the side of the street with the glass bus shelters (in front of UPMC Presbyterian). Bus fare is $2.75. The bus will take you straight to the airport (the ride lasts about one hour). Stay on the bus until the signage at the front of the bus reads “Pgh Airport Upper Level” (or something akin to this). The airport is the last stop that the bus makes on its route. When you get off the bus, you will be at the departure level of the airport. From there, you will be able to check your bags (if needed), then pass through airport security. You will then take a tram to your gate.
Uber/Lyft
Enter “Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT)” as your destination. The ride to the airport can take up to an hour, depending on traffic. The driver might ask you which airline you are flying with, then drop you off closer to the check-in area for that airline. Regardless, all airline desks are located in the same departure area. Once you enter the airport, you will be able to find the desk for checking your bags (if needed). Then, you will descend to the security area, then take a tram to your gate.
Taxi
Tell the driver that you are headed to the airport, then follow the same instructions above for navigating within the airport.
